I gave it three stars even though I really liked it because it was simple which is the requirement for a book like this. As an individual with an Islamic background, much of this was a reminder. I do appreciate these religious biography type books because it brings new life to an old picture. Oct 07, Rih rated it it was amazing. Simple and concise. An easy, fruitful read that covers important elements of Islam. This book provides a brief account of Islam to new Muslims and is equally helpful to existing Muslims acting as a reminder. In addition, Sherman provides us with insights into her own experience in learning about Islam.

Moreover, the final section dedicates time to discuss solutions, and perspective, to some of the probing questions one would encounter as a Muslim. A worthy read, recommended. At that time, Ms. Sherman found herself dealing with many of the issues that she has poignantly described in this book.
